Exercise Tips for Those with Lupus
Start exercising!
Start out slow and with medical permission. Try not to exercise too fast or unsupervised. These tips for using exercise to control lupus include:
- Take it slow and don’t start with aggressive exercise programs. You will burn out quickly and actually cause damage to the body. Exercise can prove to be a management tool for lupus so start out with exercise that feels comfortable, and gradually increase the level of intensity. Many benefits can happen by exercising regularly at a lower rate. If one exercises occasionally at a high level of intensity, then they will do more harm than good. Rest between sessions. Prevent burning out or giving up on exercise entirely.
