How to Build Mobility Confidence with Parkinson's Disease

Invest in a Treadmill or Stationary Bike

Some patients may not want to leave the house, either from fear of a fall or embarrassment but do want to engage in activities that will help to strengthen their balance and mobility. A treadmill or stationary bike is a great way to do that. With the stationary bike the patient will be in a seated position and there is relatively little danger that they may fall and hurt themselves. A treadmill is an even better option as it has sidebars that the patient can hold onto while they walk, however this may not be practical for someone that has issue with standing for more than short periods of time.
