What Patients Can Do At Home

Patients with natural teeth should be sure to clean carefully all areas of the mouth including both the inside and outside, the biting surface, while paying special attention to the area where the teeth meet the gums, using a dental scaler to be sure that all plaque is removed from that area effectively. If there is difficulty reaching these areas, a three sided toothbrush and dental aids can be applied to make it easier. Patients with dentures will find them easier to clean if they are first removed, being sure to use a dental pik to get rid of plaque buildup.
