"Helicopter parents" have less free time
Not only are parents tired due to the daily struggles of parenting, but they are also more involved in their children's lives than in the past. Research shows that twenty years ago there were far fewer "helicopter parents" who hover over their children's every move. Since a parent's free time has decreased, they have different priorities in how to spend it.
