The NBA Makes Space for Autism

The staff receives unique, specific autism training

The staff members received in-person and online certified training to learn how to better engage with, communicate, and help guests coming through the door. “Regardless of when you go into the store, at any time during the year, you can feel comfortable that the experience will be a positive one. If something arises, the staff is trained to provide support, they understand it, and they have a plan in place to make sure that they can help in any way there is possible,” said Jacobson. The NBA store also sold wristbands on World Autism Awareness Day and all the money raised went to KultureCity and their mission to create a world where autistic individuals are accepted, included, and fulfill their potential.
