Ways to be engaged

Sometimes it may be a little challenging for older adults to get motivated about being socially involved. Issues such as hearing difficulties may deter them from engaging socially, but ultimately, getting involved can give this population of people a sense of belonging. There are many senior centers throughout the United States that offer events for older adults that can help keep them mentally and socially engaged. There are groups for knitting, woodworking, book clubs, academic courses, movie nights, and more. For physical activity, joining a local gym can be helpful. Pool exercises and classes are great for fitness and also relatively easy on the body.
