Managing Cognitive Decline in Type 2 Diabetes through Early Intervention
Improvement
Being able to manage the serious effects on cognition and mental abilities would greatly improve the lives of the people diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Cognitive impairments can be mild, but can also be very serious leading to a very poor performance in daily activities, which would consequently need supervision from the family or caregivers. When this is managed, performing simple tasks at home such as writing, eating, reading, and communicating with others would be much easier for not just the patient, but the people around him or her as well. Management could also help the person and family members to handle certain emotions associated with the disease such as fear, frustration, and anxiety.
