Living with cystic fibrosis isn't always heroic, and that's okay
For Brad, living with cystic fibrosis simply means he is "just surviving". It's not really heroic when it's a forced burden. He understands that people are just trying to be kind to him, but he wants people to understand that there's quite a difference between choosing to save someone like a hero and having to endure suffering forced upon you by fate.
