Anal Abscess

Anal abscess is characterised by the formation of pus near the anus, mostly due to an infection of anal glands.

The most common type of abscess is the perianal abscess seen as a small boil near the anus.

These abscesses are reddish and warm.

The abscesses in the deeper tissues are less visible.
