MDA Summer Camp: The Summer of a Lifetime for Muscular Dystrophy Patients

What Can We Do?

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is just one of those organizations that strive to make the world a better and kinder place for children with muscular dystrophy. A lot of other groups around the world are making their own efforts at battling the disease through research and volunteer work. While medicine endeavors to finally cure muscular dystrophy and other debilitating muscular illnesses, we are called upon to contribute in what little way we can.

Volunteer work is not the sole activity we can do to help out. We can start by learning more about how progressive muscle-wasting diseases work and understand how they affect people differently. Increasing our understanding of certain diseases widens our thinking about people who live with them and opens doors to countless opportunities to offer our assistance. Little work put in consistently goes a long way, and it does not have to be grand gestures all the time. In the information age, spreading awareness is vital.
