I am a 51 year old female. I want to know are heart attacks a genetic factor?

They are genetic to some extent. After all, everything is but they are mainly a result of lifestyle and medical issues such as smoking, cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, exercise, diet, stress, and so on. Family history plays a role but since you can't pick your parents you better concentrate on optimizing these other risk factors.
