General Practitioner Questions General Practitioner

Bloodwork question?

Hypothetically if I was getting bloodwork done today for a routine physical, how long before the test would something I ate or drink stay and show up in the blood test? For example, if I drank a coke the day before would it show up in the test?

No, it would not, unless you have diabetes, then maybe.
12-24 hours.

Not really, if it was drunk 4 hours before the test
Thank you for question, you need 8-10 hours fasting
8 hr of fast is the best choice.
HOPE ALL IS WELL. GOOD QUESTION. - IT COULD SHOW ON A METABOLIC PANEL IF YOU HAVE A DIABETIC DISEASE OR PROBLEMS METABOLIZING SUGARS DUE TO HIGH SUGAR CONTENT DRINKS, BUT LIQUIDS ARE ELIMINATED QUICKLY THROUGH URINE. HAS TO BE A LOT OF "COKE(SUGAR DRINK)" TO "SHOW UP" IN THE TEST. BEST TO DRINK WATER, AND FAST FOR AT LEAST 10 HRS BEFORE TEST. IE. IF TEST DONE AT 6 AM, NOT INGEST FOOD FROM 8 PM
