Pulmonologist Questions Tuberculosis

Can TB recur in a person?

I had contracted TB 6 years back for which I underwent complete treatment. After the tests the doctors confirmed that I have been cured of the condition. However since the last 3 days I am having severe cough and it is worrying me if it is a recurrence of TB again.

TB can certainly recur in a compromised individual; however, acute symptoms of cough are more likely to be viral infection or allergic in nature. see a pulmonary doctor to assess for such
With proper treatment of TB the chances of recurrence are less than 1%. So the likelihood of these symptoms being due to recurrent TB are very low, but the patient should see a doctor for a full examination.
