“Can a child have ear pain without infection?”
My son has ear pain but no infection. Is it normal? Should I take him to a doctor?

I recommend taking your child to their doctor. Your child should not have ear pain with or without an infection.
Yes, pain can be due to inflammation, and inflammation is not always due to an infection. If the pain persists for more than a day or two without improvement, I would suggest seeing a physician, yes.
