Can a dental implant cause TMJ?

I am a 33 year old female. I want to know if a dental implant can cause TMJ?

The process of "restoring" (returning to function) a dental implant is an important one and should be done with a complete understanding of the ramifications of how an implant works. They are not teeth, and occlusion (the "bite") must be accounted for more precisely than on teeth. If the dentist is not knowledgeable on this, the incorrectly established bite could in fact cause symptoms like those of "TMJ." "TMJ" is a misnomer and is not a precise or accurate description of a syndrome.
