Can depression turn into bipolar?

I have depression for the last 2 months. I can't treat it. Can depression turn into bipolar?

It does not "turn into bipolar" but at times bipolar ds is not diagnosed timely as the first symptoms for a while could be those of depressive disorder.
The existing literature shows a strong consensus: accurate identification
of depression that starts early in life and recurrent course with multiple
episodes, subthreshold hypomanic and/or mixed (irritability) symptoms, and
family history of bipolar disorder signs towards the possible conversion
from depression to bipolar disorder. The cumulative incidence of
conversion from depression to bipolar disorder was found to be 8.4% in one
study.
Hope this is helpful. Best, JA
No, depression cannot turn into bipolar disorder, persé, but if you have any history of elevated moods for several days, periods of little to no sleep for several days, risky behaviors during those times, or other concerning symptoms, that would be more concerning for bipolar disorder.
