Can diabetes cause numbness and itching in my hands?

I was detected with diabetes about 3 years back, and currently my HbA1C stands at 8 inspite of my medicines. My post lunch sugar levels are normally high. I have recently observed numbness and itching in my hands. Could it be due to diabetes?

YES, numbness can be caused by uncontrolled diabetes. It depends where the numbness is. The excess glucose in the blood affects the nerve endings, especially in the feet.
It could be due to Diabetic Neuropathy. Elevated sugars for prolonged periods are toxic to neurons. You may also want to get checked out for carpal tunnel syndrome.
