Can liver problems cause stomach problems?

I have liver disease and I have nausea and an upset stomach. Can liver problems cause stomach problems?

Yes, it definitely can. So can many other gastrointestinal diseases or biliary disease or gallbladder disease pancreatic disease that may coexist. Please see your gastroenterologist and get an evaluation.

Yes, indirectly. Many organ dysfunctions cause nausea which actually happens in the brain and is manifested by vomiting. If the liver is malfunctioning (e.g. in cirrhosis or acute liver failure) then many secondary organs can be affected including the brain and subsequently the stomach.
