Absolutely, medications can help tremendously. Can obesity be fixed? No, because we can't change our genetics and age; but it can be helped and give you a fighting chance. Believe it or not, we have not found any medications as safe, affordable or as effective as what came out over 50 years ago. Those patients that I have who required medications to assist them have done tremendously well with them along with healthy eating (more protein and less carbs) along with improved activity levels.
