Does leaving toothpaste on your teeth help?

I am a 16 year old female. I want to know if leaving toothpaste on your teeth helps?

No. Why would it?
If you have sensitive exposed roots leaving sensodyne toothpaste on the teeth will help to eliminate the sensitivity.
After brushing for 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste, you can spit without rinsing. This helps keep the fluoride on the teeth longer. I would not leave the actual paste on, as the ingredients may irritate your gums.
