A CT scan can provide useful information about the presence and severity of fatty liver disease, but it is not the most accurate method for diagnosis. A liver biopsy is the gold standard for definitive diagnosis, although it is an invasive procedure. To learn more, connect with me at drjeromepuryear.com. Thank you!
Not very accurate. A fibroscan or MR elastography are better tests to detect fatty liver.
It has its role. Most physicians start with ultrasound less invasive no radiation exposure. Then if needed a more detailed examination with MRI or fibroscan.
