Bacteria will colonize approximately every 24 hours. When you brush before you go to sleep, it gives your mouth a break from the acids and toxins for hours.
You will survive and so will your teeth. Unfortunately, bacteria in your mouth love for you to do this. It will lead to decay and gum disease if this becomes a habit. The longer the bacteria have to sit on your teeth, the more damage they do. I do not recommend this become a regular occurrence. It is easy to brush for 2 minutes, just do it!!
Best of luck to you!
One time is not an issue. If this is a constant habit, it will allow for a much greater probability for oral disease (cavities, gum disease).
It is very bad to sleep without brushing your teeth. Bacteria will form due to lack of salivary flow and decay and gum disease will proliferate.

You should try to do it twice a day regardless of whether you do it before bed. You should at least rinse your mouth after every meal.
The key to keeping your teeth for your lifetime is keeping a regular schedule of oral hygiene including brushing morning and night. If you skip it, you will eventually increase the likelihood of losing teeth to cavities and gum problems.
If it happened once in a long while, it is not a problem but if it happens regularly, that is detrimental to your oral health. Saliva flow is very low as one sleeps therefore there is no defense against the bacteria causing tooth decay and gum disease.
