You can take an antiemetic tab on the day of surgery with few sips of water and tell your anesthesiologist about it. Also tell him to take care of nausea/vomiting. We do it routinely.
You have to drink plenty of fluids on the day before until the midnight. If you have an acid reflux take your med for it in the morning with a few sips of water. Tell your anesthesia doctor that you are worried about getting sick and he will give you more meds to prevent it.
