Your Doctor will make that determination.
If the surgeon who extracts your tooth deems it necessary, they will give you a prescription for it. Make sure they have all the accurate information about your medical history.
Your oral surgeon/dentist will tell you.
The best way to deal with any infection is to eliminate the source. If the tooth is the root cause of the localized infection then its removal is usually enough
