How can I prevent my child from getting a blood disorder if it runs in the family?

I am a 28 year old female. I want to know how can I prevent my child from getting a blood disorder if it runs in the family?

Maintain ideal weight, avoid foods high in sodium, promote foods high in potassium, exercise regularly. If there was any specific cause found for hypertension in the family, screen early for this.
In general, there is no way to prevent it that is easily available and proven. Many "disorders" are inherited and are therefore "genetic" and may be fixed in the future with "gene therapy," which could correct the code in the DNA.
