It is normal for the first couple of days. It is very normal when we are moving the teeth to have some discomfort due to inflammation. This kind of inflammation is need in order to move the teeth. Take ONLY Tylenol, not Advil or any anti inflammatory medications because this will interfere with your treatment. It gets better when you wear each aligner for couple of days and much better when you move from aligner to aligner.
Invisalign trays usually are tight upon initial placement and might hurt a bit, but after a day or two, the tightness goes away. Check to make sure you are wearing the correct tray number. If the tray is impinging on your tissue, you can cut that area slightly. Otherwise, take an Advil. If too much pain continues to day 4, call your dentist.
The more you wear it, the faster the ligament around the teeth will get used to the pressure and it will get better. At the beginning, Advil or Tylenol depending on allergies.

Pain from Invisalign treatment is related to tooth movement. The tooth soreness experienced with Invisalign-based tooth movement is no different from that experienced when teeth are moved/aligned with metal braces.
Generally, the soreness may occur in the first 2-3 days after switching to a new aligner. This is the time during which you get greatest tooth movement and the remainder of time in your new aligner functions to stabilize your teeth in their new position.
So, luckily, the pain should subside fairly quickly after transitioning to a new aligner.
