Almost all of my patients go home from the ICU the morning after surgery for a brain aneurysm. They go home with a full head of hair and no specific activity restrictions.
The length of stay in the hospital depends on many different factors- it may be a short as overnight for an uncomplicated endovascular treatment. I suggest you ask the physician who will be treating your aneurysm what the anticipated length of your stay will be. Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>
The answer is dependent upon a number of issues. If this is elective treatment by a neurointerventionalist placing coils through the blood vessels it could be just a few days. If it is an open procedure using a craniotomy by a neurosurgeon it would be 5 or 6 days generally. Brain T. Andrews, MD, FACS, FAANS
Usually an elective surgery if uncomplicated will have a stay of 1-2 days
Hello, Thats generally up to your neurosurgeon and based on the procedure itself and how youre doing after surgery. Generally from 1-5 days. Hope this helps! Be well, Aleka Scoco, MD
