“How long does it take for acupuncture to work for ear ringing?”
I have ear ringing and want to treat it with acupuncture. How long does it take for acupuncture to work for ear ringing?

Ear ringing is a tough one. I found that the response depends on what the initial cause is and how long a person has had it. If it's from the ears being bombarded with loud noises over a period of time, I have not had success. My best results are if a patient has not had it very long and if it occurred after an illness, like a viral infection.
That is a very good question. I have not had success treating tinnitus myself, but I know of other acupuncturists who have. They probably won't be able to tell you how long it will take, but call around and ask if they've had success treating it.
For TCM ringing in the ear, it means you have kidney deficiency. We need to treat this with acupuncture and herbs to get rid of this.
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is the holy grail of acupuncture. The first acupuncturist that cracks the tinnitus code is going to be world famous. That's a long way of saying tinnitus is extremely difficult to treat. I've had a few cases that responded in 10-15 treatments. Most of the rest took months or never changed. If you're wanting to treat this with acupuncture, be prepared for a long haul.
