How long is my uncle's life expectancy?

My uncle is 66, and has cerebral palsy. He was put in hospice care in December 2021 after being diagnosed with kidney disease/failure and chose not to have dialysis. He's gone in at least twice to the hospital these last 6 months because his potassium levels were almost lethal. At this rate, I want to know what his life expectancy will be, or some kind of estimate.

Hello,

You are asking about the life expectancy of your 66 year old uncle with kidney failure and underlying cerebral palsy.

His doctor is being very aggressive in testing his electrolytes and treating abnormal results conservatively. He has declined dialysis for his kidney failure.

His prognosis is difficult to determine. Based on this limited information the best estimate is a life expectancy of weeks to months. However with good care a year or two can be potentially unsurprising.

Good luck.
Hello
High potassium level can cause arrhythmias and death, it can be treated temporarily with medication but without dialysis he will not survive, Life expectancy probably 2-6 months.
