How long should your jaw hurt after a tooth extraction?

I am a 35 year old female. I want to know how long should your jaw hurt after a tooth extraction?

Hard to say without specifics, but generally, if wide opening for some time of the jaw troubles already exist, then recovery with precautions could be a few days. Dry Socket (Osteitis) would require care and medications, 3-5 days.
Hi!

So, with any medical/dental advice like this, it’s hard to answer you exactly without seeing you. However, I can try to answer as best I can. Jaw pain following an extraction could be normal post-op pain if it was a difficult extraction. Wisdom teeth, for example, can be very difficult to extract depending on how impacted they are. If you feel like "something isn’t right," you should definitely follow up with the doc that did the extraction.
The pain or discomfort might last up to 3 days. If pain persists, it could be due to the dry socket (infection of the bone after blood clot falls out from the socket). Patient should contact operating doctor for a further treatment.
