Urology Questions Urologist

How long will this last or is it something else?

I am a 24 year old male with zero health conditions aside from just being diagnosed with a slightly underactive thyroid this past week. I was curling somewhat heavy weights at the gym and felt some type of quick pain in my testicles that went right away. The problem is that was back in August. It is now October. I haven’t been able to feel my testicles normally since then. Most of the time, they hang as low as possible. My sex drive is low if at all and it can be difficult to get and stay hard, but not always and there is a somewhat sharp pain towards the top of my penis for a split second. I also have trouble telling when I need to go urinate. I can tell it’s there, but not like I used to be able to. It just kind of feels like it’s there, but not fully. I’m starting to get very concerned that it’s more than just a little injury. The thoughts about this control my whole day every single day.

Go to your PCP for an evaluation. Impossible to confidently diagnose over the phone.

Hello,

It sounds like you could have a nerve pinched somewhere that could be causing all of your symptoms. I would recommend seeing a doctor and having either some imaging or nerve tests done. The other common injury could be a hernia, although I don't believe it would be causing the neurological symptoms you are experiencing of decrease sensation, difficulty maintaining erections, and not recognizing the urge to urinate, which definitely sounds like a nerve impingement somewhere. Your Pudendal nerve or sacral nerves S2, 3, and 4 come together to carry sensation to the pelvic area and motor supply to the urethra. I would highly recommend getting an examination by a doctor as if it is nerve related, the longer the issue goes on the more permanent it can become, where with proper treatment you can probably alleviate the injury.
You sir need a CT scan of your spine immediately! Kinda sounds like you may have a bulging or a slipped disc and it's pinching nerves that branch off your spinal cord "cauda equina". This needs to be ruled out ASAP
I definitely recommend you be evaluated by your primary care physician at least, and likely also a urologist and/or an endocrinologist. Make sure you mention to any physician you are seeing any supplements you may be taking.

You need to see a urologist for a complete physical exam.
