I am a 34 year old female. I want to know how painful is a bowel obstruction?

Very painful and need to go to the hospital. It’s an emergency.
Normal bowels are like a slow flowing creek, always moving. When rocks block the creek, it backs up and overflows onto the land. Imagine that is what is happening in your bowels. However, your bowels are ENCLOSED, so when there is overflow due to blockage, it STRETCHES the walls of the bowel.....THAT HURTS because the rocks keep piling up

It can be painful if is a complete obstruction vs partial obstruction, but everyone’s perception of pain is different.
Very painful. But it depends on your pain threshold. Having no bowel movement and not passing gas through your rectum is the first indication that you need to go to the ER.
It varies and can range from extremely painful to not painful at all. It is normally associated with nausea and vomiting, constipation.
Very painful. Most people need to go to the hospital if it happens. The stretching of the bowel that causes the cramping pain is extreme, usually accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
