Physical Therapist Questions Herniated Disk

How can demyelination be stopped in an aged person?

My dad fell down about 2 weeks ago from the bike and has been limping ever since. According to the doctor there are changes seen in his central disc herniation as per the MRI done of the thoracic spine. Is there a way that his condition can be managed? Is surgery an option?

Your dad needs a more accurate diagnosis. Is this pain due to pain in the leg or lower/mid back or both? Herniated disc might be an old problem. I advise he seek another opinion, possibly fracture in one of the spines or one of his legs.
