To take combined birth control pills accurately, take one pill every day at the same time, without skipping any. Start your first pack as directed by your doctor, and take all the pills, including the placebo (non-hormonal) ones, during the 21-day cycle. If you`re just starting, use additional contraception (like condoms) for the first 7 days to be fully protected.
