A lot more information will be needed. Some childhood epilepsy goes into remission during the teenage years. Some types are permanent. Some types get better in the teenage years, then recur later. Some are due to unsuspected brain damage. Some are genetic. There are many medications, and which one is best for a particular child depends on the individual case. This is definitely a case that needs to be managed specifically by a qualified pediatric neurologist.
It is possible to outgrow child seizures depending on the particular type of seizure. I am including a link for a general overview of childhood seizure types and treatments. Epilepsy in children: Types, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.
Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to this question. In many instances, it is. especially if there is an identifiable cause. It is also important to know that there are many different kinds of epilepsy, some of which the treatment is primarily medical with anti-epileptic (anti-seizure) medications, while others require a surgical procedure. The important thing with child epilepsy is to seek expert evaluation with a pediatric neurologist as soon as possible, and once the cause of the seizures can be identified, the right treatment regiment can be started as soon as possible. Early diagnosis and treatment is key.
