It's bad to do anything TOO often. The best recommendation would be to speak with your chiropractor so they can explain your treatment plan. Some conditions take multiple treatments a week over month and sometime years to properly correct.
Not at all. As long as you are feeling good following your treatments, there is no danger in going too often.
There are no side effects or adverse reactions to having your spine aligned. So, no it’s not bad to go to the chiropractor often. It’s analogous to asking if you can brush your teeth too often. There is no harm and only positive outcomes in seeing a chiropractor often. If it feels good and makes you more balanced and healthy then do it.
Hello 33 y/o male,

In short, yes, it is bad to go to the chiropractor too often. Why, you may ask? Because so many chiros are saying, "See you tomorrow"? Frankly, in my opinion, it's because they care more about making a dollar than fixing people. I have a 24-hour guarantee for my services because if I do my job, my patients should be feeling better. Correct?

Now, if a patient had just fallen down off a ladder, down stairs, etc? Then sometimes more than one visit is necessary to address the issue. For instance, when patients were sick with a cold or flu, I would see them in the morning and have them come back in the evening if they are super bad because adjustments support lymph drainage and immune activity. For biomechanics, too much adjusting places greater stress on the ligaments and does not allow them to heal. Adjust them once, and let them rest for 3-7 days depending upon their case. Majority of the time, 95% of my cases, I see patients once a week.
Hope this answers your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jim M. Weber
I usually recommend going once per week if you are working to fix a problem. It is perfectly fine to go everyday if you need to.
How often is too often? Joking aside, frequent visits to the chiropractor are beneficial. I recommend monthly visits for maintenance (more often if you have musculoskeletal problems). It's like going to the dentist. How often is too often? Every 6 months is recommended for maintenance--you'll need more visits if you have dental problems.

Again, a chiropractic visit once a month is a good maintenance program.
This is a highly contentious topic, but I believe that it can be and even your Chiropractor will tell you that certain times you don't need an adjustment based on their analysis revealing that there is no subluxation present. That's the only reason that we adjust. Pain is only a symptom and not the cause of problems, we seek to correct the cause of problems, and adjusting when it is not needed can actually create problems. It's like having surgery when it's not needed. Every time the spine is adjusted or even other joint outside of the spine, a burst of information is sent from the joint to the brain and from the brain to the joint or other organ systems. This is why some docs may use Computed Infrared Spinal Thermography which is simply a system that looks for human error codes in a similar way that you mechanic looks for error codes in your car. So, for myself, if I do not detect a thermal pattern in my patient, there is no need to adjust and we let their system be.
