Orthopaedic Surgeon Questions foot pain

Is it possible to still have foot pain after having a vehicle on top of my foot?

I was trying to get in the back seat of my dad's jeep and he had pulled away a little bit.
In the process, he had pulled his vehicle on top of my foot. He told me to pull my foot out from under, not realising how far my foot was under the tire. I went to the emergency room and they did an X-ray. There were no broken bones. Now, every now and then, I get a bit of pain in the toe area of my foot. Is it possible to still be in pain months after the incident and not have any physical signs of damage?

Yes, irritated nerves can linger
It is certainly possible to have persistent soft tissue pain after a significant crush injury. The ligaments, tendons, muscle and other supporting structures of the foot can be injured in a crush injury, like you describe, and may not be demonstrated on plain x-rays. It may take several months to fully heal and the symptoms resolve.
I would suggest to see your orthopedic doctor. There might be ligament injury. He might order MRI to evaluate the ligament. Thanks
Yes.
