I have tinnitus for 3 months now. Is tinnitus curable?

It depends on the cause of tinnitus. If tinnitus is related to hearing loss, it is typically not curable. However, sometimes tinnitus is related to environmental or medication exposures. For example, caffeine, nicotine, aspirin, and other medications cause tinnitus as a side effect.
It depends on the cause, an ear canal obstructed with wax,for example, could be a cause for tinnitus. This might resolve the problem. More often the cause of the tinnitus is from a high frequency hearing loss and is most likely a permanent problem. Most over the counter drugs for tinnitus are of little value, maskers are helpful for some people but difficult to find. Hearing aids are helpful if there is a high frequency loss. Stress can be a factor for some people.
No, there is no known cure; however, there are many ways to manage your awareness and reactions to it. Check out "Progressive Tinnitus Management Workbook." It's a free pdf that's informative and research based. Use Google as your search engine if possible.
