Cardiologist | Cardiovascular Disease Questions Cardiologist

My recent EKG?

I have had lightheadedness and some minor palpitations that have been going on for a while. I went to a doctor yesterday and while doing my BP my bp was 130/93 and they wanted to do an EKG. I feel fine overall. The blood work was normal. They've referred me to a cardiologist however I can't get in for a few weeks and I'm freaking out. I recently started nights in May and have anxiety so not sure if thats the cause.

Your ecg is not worrying. You're a low-risk demographic. Not to worry. A simple Echo, some labs, and a holter should show that you have little to worry about.
It is hard for me to advise without knowing more about your symptoms and medical history and performing a complete physical exam. I would have to presume that your doctor, after examining you and listening to your symptoms, felt that there was no immediate concern and that it can wait several weeks. As a side, the (partial) EKG you sent looks normal.

The EKG didn't come out well, but it looks like you have atrial premature contractions (APCs) which are benign. They are just extra heart beats. However, they can be brought on by smoking, alcohol, medications, caffeine, dehydration, as well as many conditions such as asthma, allergies, and many chronic illnesses. Usually no treatment is necessary. Correction of the underlying condition will alleviate the palpitations. If you're feeling fine, most likely these will correct themselves.
