Allergist & Immunologist Questions Allergist-Immunologist

My seasonal allergies are severe?

I have seasonal allergies which I take Zyrtec for but the last two days my throat has been irritated. We went out to eat and after a few bites of food, my throat became itchy. I have no known food allergies, have eaten there for years, and have the same food every time. This was the only symptom I had I experienced no difficulty in breathing, throat swelling, or hives.

I would have an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) see you in consultation regarding these issues.

I am sorry to hear you have such an experience. I would strongly suggest that you see an allergist for proper testing and evaluation. People with extensive environmental allergies over time can develop some food sensitivities - there are several possibilities and syndromes. In order to give you the best advice, proper testing and evaluation needs to be done by a well-trained and knowledgeable allergist.

Sincerely,
