Neck pain when swallowing?

I have osteoarthritis in my neck which causes nearly constant pain in that part of my spinal column. Recently however I have noticed that pain in my spine gets worse when I swallow which is keeping me from getting enough to eat and drink. Is this a sign that my arthritis is worsening?

First you need to see ENT. Get Barium swallow study with videofluoroscopy. May need esophageal endoscopy. Could try a proton pump inhibitor, e.g. prilosec. But do be seen
Need to have abarium swallow using a speech pathologist. You seem to be too young for an osteoarthritis spur to cause this pain. An MRI of the neck should be done then.
