Neurologist | Neurology Questions Neurologist

Need an opinion on stroke?

I've been dizzy for 3 years and have been seeing the same neurologist for 2 of those years. I've had a neuro ent exam (good ears, nothing wrong), several brain scans (MRI and MRA), and, most recently an EEG. I had what my primary first diagnosed as Meniere's incident, but it turned out not to be Meniere's (good ears). So I've walked around dizzy and have taken some falls (mostly in my home).

I had an MRI brain without contrast in April of this year. Part of the report reads:

"Small linear posterior paramedian right cerebellar infarct. No acute infarction, evidence of hydrocephalus, or abnormal extra axial fluid collection."

Is this causing my dizziness and why didn't my neurologist mention it when I went to see her? Is it because it's not significant? Could use some advice about what to do because I'm really tired of holding myself upright.

If by dizziness you mean vertigo or a sense that either you or things around you are spinning, you have a common but complicated problem. You should discuss with your doctor the results of the MRI. It may or may not be significant. There are neurologists who specialize in working out the diagnosis and treatment of dizziness.
