This answer to have surgery or not can only be answered by you and your eye doctor. There are certainly non-surgical options including using glasses and/or contact lenses. Surgery can be considered depending upon how much astigmatism you have and if there is any associated nearsightedness or farsightedness, also. And if you do not want to wear glasses or contact lenses then refractive surgery is definitely an option. Depending upon your age, please remember that your eyes and your prescription can and will change as you age. So, I would suggest that you discuss all of your options with your eye doctor and be aware of the pros, cons, risks, and costs of any decision that you make. As my Father, a renowned eye doctor and optometry school professor used to say, "there is no eraser at the end of a scalpel or a laser".
Good luck and best wishes.
There is def surgery for astigmatism correction. Please consult with your refractive surgeon .
