Usually only tylenol. Ideally, dental work is safest during the 2nd trimester. Your OB may be able to prescribe something else. Better to not take any meds that could have an effect on the baby.
ibuprofen
I have had to deal with this question a number of times over the years in practice. I always use the same starting point. Consult with your OB first. Next, go see a dentist and ask him/her evaluate the situation and let them determine. Once the problem has been evaluated and treatment planned, then have the dentist consult with your OB regarding pain control, infection medications if needed and immediate treatment. All of this communication is needed to assure that you and your baby receive safe and appropriate treatment.
Acetaminophen is generally accepted as the safest medication for pain during pregnancy. Best option is to ask your obstetrician for their recommendation.
Tylenol is usually safe for toothache during pregnant, but for short-term use. Please see your dentist to find out the reason for the pain and they will guide you. Also, your gynecologist can guide you on what’s safe.

Take a minute and call your dentist. Then check with your OBGYN MD to see what pain medication you are allowed to take.
