My 12 year old son has to push really hard to urinate. What causes trouble urinating in a 12 year old?

He should see a Ped. Urologist.
He could have been born with a stricture or narrowing in his urethra or water pipe. Rarely a boy can also be born with a valve in his urethra. I recommend he be properly assessed by a doctor.
