What happens if you don't fix chipped teeth?

I am a 28 year old female. I want to know what happens if you don't fix chipped teeth?

Sometimes nothing, sometimes it decays.
It depends on the size, location and cause of the chip. If you chip the front tooth due to some accident, if it is not an aesthetic problem and has not gone to the Dentin, if you leave it, it's not a problem. If you chip a back tooth that is passed the enamel and is into the second layer (Dentin), that should be fixed because it may break more or cause decay.
It depends on where the chip is. Sometimes you can leave it untouched.

Depends on how much tooth structure was being chipped. A small chip can potentially causing damages on other oral tissues (ex: lips, opposing teeth, etc...) or discomfort or even phonetic, and a large chip can potentially causing secondary infection (ex: cavity get into dentin space or even nerve space). The best way to find out the condition of your chipped tooth is to visit your local dentist. Remember, it is easier and cheaper to fix the "chip" tooth early on (or while it is still a small chip). Good luck
They can be fine for a while, but broken things eventually break more. I recommend to get it evaluated and checked at your 6 month cleaning appointment for sure. It is often easier to take care of the small things when they are small.
Hello,

Not treating a chipped tooth in a timely manner will cause significant problems in future because a broken tooth is susceptible to an infection, and that will only get worse over time. A chipped tooth might not have any symptoms at the moment, but infection can get worse and compromise oral health and overall health as infection spreads. Fixing a small chip and early treatment will prevent extensive treatments.
Thank you.
This depends upon the size of the chip and the location of the tooth. Ultimately, if the chip is small and does not irritate any portion of your soft tissue, you don't always have to fix the chip.
