“What is a linear tear within a tendon?”
An MRI on my elbow shows severe tendinosis with "linear tears". I've tried Googling countless times but cannot find ANYTHING that will explain what a "linear" tear is. Is it simply a small tear within the tendon tissue itself that follows the "linear" path of the connective tissue as it joins to the bone?

Yes, that's correct. Straight line tear along tissue planes.
