What is the difference between dental implants and mini implants?

I am a 49 year old male. I want to know what is the difference between dental implants and mini implants?

Mini implants are designed for patients with minimum bone structure, regular dental implants have better prognosis and longevity vs mini dental implants.

Mini implants are smaller versions of regular implants. Often used for smaller teeth and/or space.

Use of mini implants are limited in nature and strength.
Dental implants are a long term solution to replace missing teeth. They are stable, predictable and reliable to act as supporting anchors for crowns, bridges or dentures. Mini implants are, at best, a temporary, cheaper and less stable anchor for removable dentures. The two therapies are not interchangable or substitutable. If you have unstable(loose) dentures and you cannot afford implants, mini implants may provide a temporary way to stabilize your removable denture.
Mini implants are utilized in an edentulous patient who is wearing a complete denture and needs more support for retention. An implant is to replace a natural tooth or teeth and sometimes a full arch of teeth.
Mini implants are smaller in diameter (less than 2mm), have similar lengths yet much more limited uses, because there are less available options. Many are one piece and have no replaceable parts. If a component wears out the whole implant must be replace. Keep in mind everything eventually will wear out. Regular sized dental implants have replaceable components. For a 49 year old I would strongly recommend a dental implant that has replaceable components. Minis may cost less short term but over the course of a lifetime may end up more expensive because they may need to be completely replaced.
The difference between dental implants and mini implants is a mater of size and use. Mini implants is the designation used for dental implant less than 3mm in diameter, they are almost exclusively one piece, and are most often used to support or stabilize a denture or for temporary stabilization of something while healing takes place. There are some protocols where final restorations (teeth) are cemented onto mini implants but this is much less common than using regular implants. Dental implants or standard implants are 3mm or larger in diameter and are usually designed with an internal connection so another part can be placed into the implant, then a "tooth" can be placed on that part. Full sized dental implants are typically more expensive and also a lot more versatile.
