Continuous cold compresses on your eyes as soon as you get home. Avoid watching TV or your cell phone all day long until your swelling reduce and you can open your eyes easily and comfortably.
Avoid strenuous activity. Drink a lot of fluids and get sleep. Your surgery will recover at a set pace unique to you. In general it is in 3-6 weeks.
Cool compresses are helpful during the first 1-2 days postop, as is keeping your head elevated. I like to have my patient’s take Arnica and Bromelain starting 2-4 days preop, which greatly helps with bruising (ecchymosis) and swelling (edema).

If you go to an experienced doctor, he will give you the proper post-operative instructions. Basically, you stay quiet, very limited exercise/movement, your head elevated, and limited food intake. Stay out of the gym.
