After your period for 1 week.
If you are used to having regular cycles, you are sexually active without birth control, and you miss a menses, that is a reasonable time to take a pregnancy test. However, be aware, there are other reasons to miss a menstrual cycle, i.e., stress, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries to name a few.
